THE SHOULDER GIRDLE

FUNCTION OF THE SHOULDER GIRDLE

The shoulder girdle is designed for mobility, but functional performance relies on stability, control, and muscular coordination. This course breaks down the anatomy of the scapulae, clavicle, and glenohumeral joint, while exploring their collective role in upper limb function.

How does scapulohumeral rhythm support efficient motion?
What muscles create joint stability through all phases of movement?
How can imbalance lead to dysfunction or limitation?

You’ll examine posterior and anterior axio-appendicular muscles, the functional relationship of the scapula, and the shoulder’s role across movement patterns. From mobility to strength phases, you’ll connect anatomy to training strategies that optimize shoulder performance and reduce injury risk.
