The Core can be defined as the lumbo-pelvic-hip complex, the location of the center of gravity (CoG) in the body, and as an isometric or dynamic stabilizer that initiates movement.

The Lumbo-Pelvic-Hip complex is the most anatomically appropriate definition of the Core. It functions as a structural and functional hub for stability and movement, ensuring biomechanical efficiency.

The CoG is located just in front of the second sacral vertebra (S2) in the pelvic region, approximately 55-57% of a person’s height when standing in a neutral posture.

The LoG is the vertical force vector that represents the sum of all gravitational forces. It helps maintain balance and stability in posture and movement.

In an ideal posture, the LoG passes through anatomical landmarks such as the ear, shoulders, spine, hips, knees, and ankles. It shifts during dynamic activities to maintain balance.

Isometric stabilization refers to the Core’s ability to maintain stability without visible movement, ensuring optimal posture, force absorption, and joint stability during both static and dynamic activities.

The Inner Unit muscles such as the transversus abdominis, multifidus, diaphragm, and pelvic floor are essential for isometric stabilization, creating intra-abdominal pressure and supporting spinal integrity.

Dynamic stabilization involves coordinated muscle contractions to maintain spinal and pelvic stability while allowing controlled motion, force transfer, and enhancing agility during dynamic movements.

The Core serves as the initiation point for movement by generating and transmitting force through the kinetic chain, ensuring proximal stability (trunk control) and enhancing distal mobility (limb movement).

Mentor Exercise Review

A Mentor Review is a live guided session where you can present exercises, ask questions, and receive individual feedback on your execution, cueing, and reasoning.

Please prepare (at least) one exercise you would like feedback on. Active participation is encouraged to gain the full benefit of the session.

Sessions require a minimum of two participants. If fewer than two students are registered 48 hours in advance, the session will be cancelled.

COURSE STRUCTURE

KINETICODE® PILATES CERTIFICATION

The KinetiCode® Pilates Certification follows a 7-month study cycle, designed for maximum flexibility. You can begin at the start of any month and progress at your own pace while completing all required coursework.

In total, the course includes:

  • 12 Live Lectures in 6 months, 6 hours each day (total of 72 hours)
  • Exercise Mentor Review min. 15 hours
  • Observation Practice min. 20 hours
  • Self Practice min. 30 hours
  • Physical Review min. 30 hours
  • Practice Teaching min. 20 hours
  • Home work/Theory studies min. 60 hours
  • Written Exam 2 hours
