  • One of the primary functions of the Core is to protect and reduce stress on the spinal column.
  • It provides stability and balance for the entire body during various movements.
  • The Lumbo-Pelvic-Hip complex is the central part of the body, integrating stability and movement.
  • It includes muscles that provide support and optimize movement efficiency.
  • Protects the spine and reduces stress during trunk and limb movements.
  • Maintains postural alignment and helps absorb forces during movement.
  • Stabilization System (Inner Unit) includes muscles like transversus abdominis and pelvic floor muscles.
  • Movement System (Outer Unit) includes muscles like rectus abdominis and external obliques.
  • Both systems work together to optimize movement.
  • Proper Core function improves coordination and force generation.
  • Insufficient activation can lead to poor posture, decreased performance, and injury.
  • Stabilizes the thorax and pelvis during movement.
  • Regulates intra-abdominal pressure (IAP).
  • Assists in breathing, coughing, and other bodily functions.
  • Provides force transfer between upper and lower body.
  • Maintains stability and prevents injury during daily activities and sports.
  • Core strength is essential for tasks like walking, lifting, and even breathing.
  • Ensures the body’s stability during both intense and routine movements.

Research shows that higher Core stability reduces the risk of injury for individuals of all ages and activity levels.

  • It enables efficient acceleration, deceleration, and stabilization during movement.
  • Promotes proper length-tension relationships and force couples for smooth movements.
  • Core muscles help with the birthing process, particularly the transversus abdominis.
  • Weak core muscles can lead to conditions like urinary stress incontinence.
